Original UK Flavor Guide

1. Strawberry (Red)

A sweet and smooth strawberry flavor that’s a fan favorite. Less tangy than raspberry and without the tart punch of sour varieties, this one is like strawberry jam or chewy strawberry sweets—simple, sugary, and nostalgic.

2. Lime (Green)

In the UK, green is still lime, not the controversial green apple switch seen in the US. This flavor delivers a citrusy, zesty tang that cuts through the sweetness of the mix. It’s refreshing, a little sharp, and balances the fruit medley perfectly.

3. Lemon (Yellow)

A bright, sunny lemon flavor that leans more toward sweet lemonade than sour lemon drops. It’s citrusy and zippy, but not puckeringly tart. Think lemon sherbet or lemon mousse.

4. Blackcurrant (Purple)

This is a UK-exclusive twist—unlike the US grape flavor, UK Skittles use blackcurrant, a much-loved fruit in Britain. It’s rich, tangy, and slightly floral with a deep berry flavor that gives the mix a mature and distinctive edge.

5. Orange (Orange)

A classic candy orange flavor—juicy, sweet, and a bit zesty. It’s milder than lemon or lime but rounds out the citrus spectrum nicely. Tastes like orange squash or orange jelly sweets.

While these do not contain many of the US synthetic dyes, UK Skittles do contain E132, E133 which are synthetic dyes. See below for a full food coloring breakdown for UK Skittles

Colorings: E162- derived from beets, E163- anthocyanins (plant based), E170- calcium carbonate (lime or chalk, also used as a stabilizer and acidity regulator), E160- beta-carotene (fruits and veggies), E100- curcumin (turmeric plant), E132- indigo carmine (synthetic), E133- FD&C Blue 1 (synthetic).
